VEGA successfully converted an overflow ball mill to grate discharge ball mill by installing Energy Efficient Pulp Lifter (EEPL) at an Iron ore mine located in INDIA.
The mining company was looking to improve the overall mill efficiency and throughput.
VEGA carried out EEPL installation, improved the liner design, and identified suitable alloy of High Chrome Grinding Media. Due to this change, the damping effect of ball impact, on material was reduced by effectively utilizing the energy consumption. Ball load in the mill was reduced from 32% to 18%.
Post this conversion, throughput increase of 24% and power saving of 45% was also noted with no change in the final product size.
Looking at the huge benefits the Indian Iron mining giant has converted total 3 overflow ball mills to grate discharge with EEPL technology.
